Product overview
Boraginol® A Suppository ointment is a nozzle-attached injection ointment from Tendo Pharmaceutical's A series, containing steroids (prednisolone acetate Weak class) as the core, combined with four active ingredients for local anesthesia, tissue repair, and blood circulation promotion. It is effective for the four symptoms of pain, bleeding, swelling, and itching caused by hemorrhoids and anal fissures.
The biggest feature is the 2WAY design. You can use one tube for both direct injection into the anus (internal hemorrhoids) with the nozzle and for application on the outside (external hemorrhoids, anal fissures). The single-use individual packaging is hygienic, and the ointment type requires no temperature control and is more portable than suppositories.
Classification: Designated Class 2 OTC Drug / Content: 2g×10 units / 2g×30 units / 2g×50 units
Four features
🔄
2WAY injection + application
Inject for internal hemorrhoids, apply directly for external hemorrhoids and anal fissures. This is the most comprehensive selection for those with symptoms both inside and outside.
⚡
Steroid calms the four symptoms
Prednisolone acetate (Weak class) directly suppresses inflammation and is effective for bleeding, swelling, and itching. Lidocaine quickly relieves pain and itching.
🧪
Container design tailored to the Japanese anus
The nozzle is 6mm in diameter and 26mm in length. It is designed to deliver medicine above the dentate line where internal hemorrhoids are common, optimized for the anal structure of Japanese people.
🎒
No temperature control needed, convenient to carry
Unlike suppositories, there is no worry about melting due to body temperature, and individual packaging makes it easy to carry. Safe to use even when going out or traveling.
📐
Details of nozzle design
The length to the dentate line in the anal canal of Japanese people is about 18mm. Since internal hemorrhoids are located slightly above the dentate line, the nozzle length is set to 26mm to reliably deliver the active ingredients. The tip is rounded to minimize irritation to the damaged affected area.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do Suppository ointment and Suppository differ?
The biggest difference is portability and whether it can be used in 2 ways. A Suppository ointment can be injected inside with a nozzle and also applied outside, so it supports both internal and external use. It also does not require temperature control and is convenient to carry. A Suppository is for internal hemorrhoids only and can be inserted reliably, but it requires temperature control because it may melt at high temperatures.
Is it okay to use a tube that has already been used for topical application for injection?
It is not possible. After topical use, the medicine is reduced, so the full amount needed for one injection cannot be secured. If you want to use both injection and topical application, please use separate units for each.
What is the difference between A Suppository ointment and A Ointment (tube)?
The active ingredients differ. A Suppository ointment contains 4 ingredients and can be used both internally and externally but has no disinfectant effect. A Ointment (tube) contains 6 ingredients, including antibacterial and disinfectant components (isopropyl methylphenol) and antihistamine (chlorpheniramine), but is for external use only. If both internal and external use plus disinfection are needed, please consider the premium suppository ointment.
Is long-term use safe despite containing steroids?
The included prednisolone acetate ester is the weakest "Weak class" steroid. However, avoid long-term use; the recommended usage period is 10 days. If no improvement is seen, stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist.
Is it okay to use together with EP oral medicine?
EP oral medicine improves blood circulation from the inside using herbal ingredients, while A Suppository ointment delivers active ingredients directly through external application. Although their action pathways differ, please consult a pharmacist or registered seller before combining hemorrhoid treatments.
Brand story
Tentou Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. — A hemorrhoid specialist manufacturer that has continuously researched the Japanese anal canal
Founded in 1948, Tentou Pharmaceutical is Japan's only manufacturer specializing exclusively in hemorrhoid treatments, focusing its management resources on this specialized field. The name Boraginol comes from "bury + gin (medicine) + ol (compound)," embodying the design philosophy of delivering medicine reliably to the affected area.
A Suppository ointment is one of the products that best represents its philosophy. The 26mm nozzle length is a figure derived from research on the anatomical structure of the Japanese anal canal. Features like single-use individual packaging, rounded nozzle tip design, and 2WAY functionality embody "consideration for patients" in every detail, which is why it has been chosen by many users for years.
