Uses 100% highly refined horse oil※

Because we use 100% highly refined domestic horse oil, it has little distinctive odor and can be used for moisturizing care of the face, body, hair, and entire body. All "horse oil" used in Sonbahyu products is unadjusted in ingredients. No chemical processing is done at all.
Also, the Yakushido Group regularly visits producers and suppliers to directly procure edible horse fat.
We use dedicated equipment and tools within the group for all processes to finish horse oil, such as using facilities that refine only horse oil from frozen horse fat (bashi) kept in a fresh state.
Under integrated manufacturing, we manage quality and take over two years to complete, providing 100% pure domestic horse oil. "Sonbahyu" retains the pure characteristics (effects) of horse oil and can be used for full-body skincare from babies to adults.
※In the case of fragrance-free
When it comes to horse oil, it's Sonbahyu.

Horse oil, as the name suggests, is oil extracted from horse fat. Today, many people use horse oil, but the word "horse oil (baayu)" itself was named by the founder Naoe Akira to make it easy for customers to remember.
In 1971, after years of research, we succeeded for the first time in the world in turning horse oil, which has unique skin-protective effects, into a product.
In 1988, the then Ministry of Health and Welfare (now the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare) recognized a substance called horse oil and granted the first permission to manufacture it as a cosmetic. Through his research on horse oil, Naoe Akira always felt that "horse oil is precious" due to its mysterious benefits for people, and to spread the wonder of horse oil to the world, he renamed the product from "horse oil" to "Precious Horse Oil" and named it "Sonbahyu (尊馬油)".
