Protesan S3
Patented lactic acid bacteria material FK-23 · Equivalent to 12 trillion per packet · Equivalent to 1,200L of yogurt
Protesan S3 was developed based on Nichinichi Pharmaceutical's long-selling product "Protesan S" (equivalent to 4 trillion per packet) in response to customer requests for "wanting to take more." The lactic acid bacteria amount per packet is tripled to 12 trillion equivalent, and it is a new type that dissolves in water. It boasts the highest concentration of lactic acid bacteria material in the Protesan series (Stick Granules type).
"Protesan S3" is the highest concentration product in the long-selling "Protesan" series manufactured by Nichinichi Pharmaceutical for over 30 years since its founding in 1987. It contains an ultra-high concentration of lactic acid bacteria material FK-23 equivalent to 12 trillion per packet (3.3g), which corresponds to 1,200 liters of yogurt.
Ingredients are only FK-23 (heat-treated lactic acid bacteria), maltose, and thickener (CMC). No fragrances or sweeteners used. The formula is allergen-free, containing none of the 28 specified food allergens. Suitable for a wide range of ages from infants to Elderly.
Dissolvable type: dissolve one packet (3.3g) in about 100mL of water and consume. Recommended intake is 1 to 6 packets per day. Can also be mixed into juice, tea, miso soup, or yogurt.

Nichinichi Pharmaceutical's lactic acid bacteria supplements use three types of lactic acid bacteria materials processed differently. All are made from the same bacteria called Enterococcus faecalis, but their properties and names differ depending on the depth of processing.
A material where Enterococcus faecalis is heat sterilized and concentrated. The bacterial bodies remain intact and are absorbed from the Peyer's patches in the small intestine. Used in the Protesan series (B, R, S, S3). Holds six patents.
A material where FK-23 is further treated with enzymes to dissolve the bacterial cell walls and extract internal components (nucleic acids, vitamins, minerals, etc.). Used in the Chisa series (Ferna and White). Holds six patents.
A unique special processed lactic acid bacteria material from Nichinichi Pharmaceutical that combines the characteristics of both FK-23 and LFK. Used in Protesan Every II.
