What is the active ingredient “heparinoid substance”?
Heparinoid substances are moisturizing ingredients used for many years as treatment for dry skin. They are components similar to “heparin,” a type of sugar produced in the human liver, characterized by high hydrophilicity and water retention. They have three effects: “moisturizing,” “promoting blood circulation,” and “anti-inflammatory,” and can be used on the whole body from children to the elderly. They penetrate into the stratum corneum inside the skin, exert moisturizing effects, and effectively improve dryness, inflammation, and rough skin.
Mechanism of penetrating inside the skin and retaining moisture
Heparinoid substances have the function of attracting and retaining moisture. Unlike petrolatum, which covers the skin surface to prevent moisture evaporation, heparinoid substances penetrate into the stratum corneum inside the skin and act on skin cells there.

The stratum corneum originally functions as a “barrier” that retains moisture inside the skin and protects the skin from external stimuli, but it is easily damaged or peeled off due to causes like ultraviolet rays and dryness, resulting in loss of skin moisture. Therefore, by using heparinoid substances, it improves the moisture retention function of the stratum corneum and promotes the restoration of normal barrier function. This allows moisture to be retained inside the skin.
Recommended usage method for Hirumairudo
| Use on clean bare skin | After bathing or washing your face, apply an appropriate amount to clean bare skin and rub it directly onto the affected area, or spread it on gauze and apply it like a patch. Use cream for localized areas such as around the mouth, cheeks, or fingers. For wide areas like elbows, knees, thighs, or back, lotion is recommended. |
| When you feel symptoms caused by dryness | When your hands are rough, doing dishes is tough. If you feel dryness or stinging even a little, use it early before the symptoms worsen. The recommended frequency is once to several times a day. |
