Hakata Western-Japanese confectionery "Hakata Torimon"
A soft white bean paste bun with a texture that melts on the tongue.
Wrapped in a gentle skin with a milky aroma, the carefully kneaded white bean paste made from high-quality ingredients has a moist and elegant sweetness.
A popular confection as a souvenir from Fukuoka Hakata and as a mail-order Japanese sweet, known as a Hakata specialty.
[Origin of Hakata Torimon]
The famous Fukuoka Hakata festival "Hakata Dontaku," held annually on May 3rd and 4th.
The Dutch word for holiday "Zondag" [Zondag], which was a popular term in the Meiji era, evolved into the Hakata dialect word "Dontaku."
Among the crowd in the parade, those dressed in Dontaku costumes, playing the shamisen, and sounding flutes and drums as they march are called "Torimon" in the Hakata dialect.
The bun wrapped in a stylish outfit with a milky aroma perfectly matches the name "Hakata Torimon." This is the origin of "Hakata Torimon."
