Carrot It is a different species from the common edible ginseng, also known as Panax ginseng or Korean ginseng, and is a perennial plant of the Araliaceae family native to northeastern China and Korea, cultivated in various places. In spring, it produces a single stem about 60 cm tall with 3 to 4 whorls of leaves, and in early summer it produces small white flowers. The medicinal part is the root, excluding the fine roots, or the roots lightly boiled, and contains active ingredients such as saponins called ginsenosides, which have expectorant properties and have been used in China, the Korean peninsula, and Japan since ancient times. |
