A long-selling cold medicine born in 1920, loved for over 100 years
Non-pyrazolone aspirin main ingredient + five active ingredients for a multi-angle approach to cold symptoms
🌡️ Product overview
Gotōsan Cold Medicine Granules is a Designated Class 2 OTC Drug cold medicine loved mainly in Kyushu for over 100 years since its creation in 1920 by internist Susumu Gotō at "Gotō Pharmacy." The manufacturer and distributor is Usuki Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. headquartered in Usuki City, Oita Prefecture. The product name comes directly from the powder form and Dr. Gotō’s name.
The main ingredient is non-pyrazolone antipyretic analgesic aspirin (450mg). Combined with cough suppressant noscapine, bronchodilator dl-methylephedrine hydrochloride, antihistamine chlorpheniramine maleate, pain relief enhancer anhydrous caffeine, and plant-derived Cinnamon and Licorice powders. Finished as easy-to-take two-colored smooth spherical granules. It broadly addresses severe symptoms accompanying colds such as fever, headache, runny nose, cough, and throat pain.
Aspirin is ultra-micronized to increase surface area for rapid absorption. To maintain quality, the packets wrapped in medicine paper are sealed with a desiccant in aluminum packaging using a unique method to ensure stability.
⭐ Four features
The main ingredient is aspirin, a non-pyrazolone antipyretic analgesic born in Germany in 1899 and used worldwide for over 100 years. It works on fever, headache, joint pain, muscle pain, and other cold symptoms.
Five ingredients—antipyretic analgesic (aspirin), cough suppressant (noscapine), bronchodilator (dl-methylephedrine hydrochloride), antihistamine/runny nose suppressant (chlorpheniramine maleate), and pain relief enhancer (anhydrous caffeine)—work together to comprehensively care for severe cold symptoms.
Contains plant-derived herbal powders Cinnamon (Keihi) and Licorice (Kanzou). This creates a unique refreshing aroma and taste, softening the strong bitterness typical of medicines. It is also popular among men for ease of intake.
Aspirin is ultra-micronized to increase surface area for rapid absorption. Since aspirin is sensitive to moisture, the ingredients are protected and quality maintained by a double structure of medicine paper + desiccant + aluminum packaging.
