When contact lenses are worn, the tear film can more easily break apart, and irritation from dryness or friction may lead to eye inflammation and uncomfortable symptoms such as foreign-body sensation, redness, and itching. Mytear Eyetect EX is an eye drop that combines the switch OTC anti-inflammatory ingredient pranoprofen with chlorpheniramine maleate, sodium chondroitin sulfate, taurine, and potassium L-aspartate. It is used to help relieve officially designated uncomfortable eye symptoms such as watery eyes, foreign-body sensation, and redness.

■ Mechanism of eye inflammation
When external stimuli such as ultraviolet rays, strong wind, or house dust affect the eyes, the inflammatory mediator "prostaglandin" is produced, which may cause inflammation in the eyes. As a result, symptoms such as "tearing," "foreign body sensation＊," "itchy eyes," and "redness" appear.
