About the action of topical mouth ulcer treatments
Mouth ulcers cause pain from external stimuli such as eating and drinking, making normal eating difficult and reducing nutrient intake. Alleviating this pain from stimuli also improves quality of life. Covering and protecting the affected area of the mouth ulcer with a patch or ointment can relieve "contact pain."
