The birth of Rohto Eye Drops
After the end of the Russo-Japanese War, the demand for eye drops increased due to the epidemic of the eye disease Trachoma.
Rohto Pharmaceutical's first eye medicine, the eye drop "Rohto Eye Drops," was launched over 100 years ago in 1909 (Meiji 42).
At that time, Dr. Toyotaro Inoue, an authority in the ophthalmology community, prescribed it, and the product name was given in honor of his mentor, Dr. Rohtmund.
