It’s not the stomach
that digests fat
Liver power is digestive power

I’ve started to not be able to eat greasy foods...
This is due to decline in liver function with aging,
a shortage of bile acids necessary for fat breakdown is one of the causes.
The ingredient ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) in Tanabe Gastrointestinal Medicine Urso acts on the liver,
promotes bile acid secretion, and improves stomach discomfort caused by fat.
Recommended for people like this.
|
Those who, as they age, have started to not be able to eat or want to eat greasy foods |
Those who often attend dinners and banquets |
Those who feel unwell but endure without wanting to rely on conventional gastrointestinal medicine |
What is Ursodeoxycholic Acid (UDCA)?
UDCA is one of the five types of human bile acids.
The ones synthesized in the liver are cholic acid (CA) and chenodeoxycholic acid (CDCA).
These are excreted into the intestines as bile components and are converted by intestinal bacteria into deoxycholic acid (DCA), lithocholic acid (LCA), and ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA).

Bile acids circulate
Bile acids produced in the liver work to digest and absorb fat in the small intestine, then over 95% return to the liver through the portal vein and are reused. This cycle is called“enterohepatic circulation”.
With aging, liver function declines and bile flowdecreases, causing this cycle to slow and fat digestion and absorption tonot work well.

UDCA promotes bile acid secretion
Orally ingested UDCA is absorbed from the intestines and enters the enterohepatic circulation as is.
UDCA not only acts as a bile acid itself but also improves liver cell function andpromotes bile secretion (choleretic effect).
When bile acids that had been stagnant inside liver cells are secreted as bile components, fat digestion and absorption become smooth, andstomach discomfort and indigestion improve.
